Booking your MOT
We need a little bit of notice when booking your vehicle for repairs or servicing but usually you can get a same day booking for an mot test as we are quite flexible with mot bookings. If your mot certificate has expired, please let us know when you make your booking and we will ask you for your registration number. Providing your car is insured and you are booked in, you are entitled to drive to and from the mot station even though your mot has expired.
First MOT? -
If your vehicle is due for its first mot we advise that you bring with you your registration document (V5). This can save any problems that may occur when it comes to entering the vehicle details into the DVLA computer system. Usually the system will already have the details but it is best to bring it just in case. Click here for further information about the mot test or contact us if you have a query
MOTORHOMES - We have a large bay in the workshop which will lift a motorhome of up to 5.5 tonnes with a wheel base of up to 6 metres. This means we are fully equipt to perform MOT tests and servicing on your motorhome.
Our workshop is fully equipped with two mot bays, one for cars, quads, trikes and three wheelers and the other for large vehicles like vans, motorhomes, minibuses and limousines.
We can MOT while you wait, or you can leave your vehicle with us. If you do decide to wait you are welcome to sit in our viewing area to watch the test being carried out on your vehicle, or you can wait in our waiting room; either way we will equip you with a hot cup of tea or coffee if you would like one.

Services at Tomsett Kent
We have full lift facilities for cars, motor homes and commercial vehicles up to 4 tonne un-laden weight. Vehicles over 4 tonne can be inspected on our fixed external ramp.
Many customers call in regularly for their tyre pressures, or oil and coolant levels to be checked. We also offer free winter checks and free estimates along with competitively priced servicing, maintenance and repairs. Few jobs are too big or too small, from a new headlamp bulb to a complete engine rebuild, all can be carried out competently.
Services For New Vehicles
Owners of new vehicles may not be aware of recent changes in the law. For years vehicle manufacturers have insisted that new vehicles are returned to main dealers for servicing during the warranty period. This is no longer the case. Independent garages can now carry out these tasks without invalidating the new vehicle's warranty. Most manufacturers specify that independents must be VAT registered and use main dealer parts. We carry out the same operations as the main dealers but at a fraction of the cost.
